Spectacular New Year Tree and Decorations Lighting in Portonovi, the Winner of the Prestigious Elle Style Awards

The beginning of December in Portonovi is marked by New Year decorations, which have just like last year, mesmerized visitors.

Right before the start of the holiday season, which began with the symbolic lighting of the biggest New Year tree in Montenegro on December 3rd, Portonovi was awarded at one of the most important fashion events in the region, the Elle Style Awards 2022. Numerous personalities from the worlds of fashion, culture, art, and entertainment were awarded, and among the winners this year was the luxurious Portonovi Resort, which was awarded for the best design and decor.

Designed and set up to provide the ideal combination of classy, comfortable, and luxurious, the interior and exterior of Portonovi are an example of sublime and sophisticated design and construction style: "Our resort was designed by world-renowned architects to perfectly fit in with the wild, Mediterranean nature surrounding it. However, the beauty of the resort comes to the light especially in the period of winter holidays, when every corner of Portonovi is decorated with special decorations that really make you feel like you're in a fairy tale," said Adrijana Husić, the Director of Marketing and Communications at Portonovi Resort.

Fun and a great atmosphere are awaiting at every step in Portonovi, regardless of the time of year. Although this is only the second year of the celebration in the unique village - it has become so popular among visitors that the festive atmosphere heated up as early as the end of November. From the beginning of December until January 8th, 2023, you can expect a diverse program for all generations and for everyone's taste.

Portonovi organized the first event as a symbolic tribute to the year that we are slowly leaving behind, and as a welcoming gesture for the upcoming holidays. Portonovi Sparkling Season officially begins on December 3rd, so the festive lighting of the New Year tree in Portonovi Marina Square, as well as festive decorations, gathered a large number of visitors. The ceremony was graced by the performance of the children's choir Cvrkutići, as well as the cultural and artistic society Sloga, whose youngest members took part in the short festive ceremony.

“This Saturday, we lit the biggest New Year tree in Montenegro, this is one of four such New Year trees in this part of Europe, and visitors and locals from Herceg Novi will be able to see decorations that are being used for the first time in Portonovi. This tree is special because it was modeled after a real pine tree, so it fits into the environment naturally," emphasized Husić and added that in this way they bring the spirit of big cities to Herceg Novi.

From December 3rd to January 8th, Portonovi is a real-life fairy tale village - a place of special magic where winter nights will be illuminated by the lights of festive decorations and a unique play of light and music. Various events for all generations, a festive market with the best offer of delicacies and creative workshops for the youngest, combined with a light sea breeze, will create an idyllic atmosphere, perfect for spending time with loved ones. Concerts by regional stars, local bands, and DJs await us, and after the program, the fun will continue in our bars, enjoying the specialties of various international cuisines, aromas from different parts of the world, exotic cocktails, champagne, and good music.

One of the events you must not miss is the Magic Show – Light, Laser & Music Show, a dramatic installation that will light up the night sky above the resort for five days, from December 14th to December 18th.
