Rock Opera with Bojana Stamenov in Portonovi – the Combination of the Sea Magic and Music

Rock Opera, the impressive symphonic project – a combination of rock and classical music, held a concert in Portonovi last night.

With scenography, lighting, and sound that delighted the visitors, this unusual musical event was a real concert treat this summer, gathering numerous guests from the country and abroad.

With the conductor and author of music arrangements, maestro Fedor Vrtačnik, and more than 40 ensemble members, the large audience in Portonovi Marina Square enjoyed.

According to Bojana Stamenov, one of the Rock Opera’s soloists, the fantastic group of different musicians has performed for around eight years.

“We cover only great hits, evergreens, and great stars’ music - some even long gone. The idea was to make different genres of music available to individuals. Our concerts are visited by audiences from the region and abroad because they can listen to legendary rock bands such as Led Zeppelin, Queen, Pink Floyd, Doors, AC/DC, The Beatles, Deep Purple, Tina Turner, Van Halen, and many others,” she said.

The concept of Rock Opera is equally attractive for all generations, especially for those who want to break free from the imposed patterns, Stamenov said.

"When the conductor is good, they know their soloists, what is expected of them, and how to adjust a certain song. The conductor and soloist mostly agree on the repertoire, consider the text, and if they both agree, they discuss the tonality, and finally, the arrangement," added Stamenov.

As she commented, lately, she has mostly followed non-commercial music privately. However, there are those whose work and effort she values and appreciates.

“Most definitely Vasil Hadžimanov, The Detour, Marko Luis… I also appreciate singers such as Tijana Bogićević and Jelena Tomašević. The authors' crisis has lasted for a long time here, but despite that, good moments resurface when we are speaking about music. I can see that some good old festivals are coming back, such as Beogradsko Proleće, and I'd love for Montenegro to revive the festivals it used to be known for," said Bojana.

The concert in Portonovi attracted thousands of guests who enjoyed it from the beginning to the final note, and numerous restaurants in the resort - this season, once again recognized as the address for the best entertainment on the Montenegrin coast.
