Portonovi Supports the Mladost Children’s Home

Supporting the local community starts with understanding the people who are part of it. Over the past two months, Portonovi has been in conversation with Mladost Children’s Home in Bijela, exploring how to offer support that responds to the children’s everyday needs and creates opportunities for new experiences.

Meetings between the Portonovi management team and the home’s management and staff provided an opportunity to discuss immediate priorities and possibilities for future cooperation. The conversations also highlighted how much the children value visiting new places, taking part in different activities and spending time beyond their usual surroundings.

With this in mind, Portonovi welcomed a group of children, accompanied by representatives from the home, for an outdoor art workshop in Central Park. Surrounded by greenery, they enjoyed a morning of creative activities and time together.

Clothing and footwear for the beginning of the school year were also identified as a priority. Following guidance from the institution’s team, Portonovi purchased and donated items for all the children, helping them prepare for the new school year.

The discussions offered a useful reminder for anyone wishing to help. As the home receives both financial and material donations, contacting its team before organizing support helps ensure that contributions reflect current needs. Whether through essential items, an outing or a creative activity, the most meaningful support begins with asking what would make a difference.
