Portonovi Brought the Spirit of World Metropolises to Montenegro During the Holidays
The holidays are over, so this year's successful holiday season (Sparkling Season) in Portonovi has also come to an end. The beautiful New Year tree that made the resort distinguishable for more than a month was taken down last week, the houses that were part of the Festive Market were closed, and the rest of the decorations are being slowly removed.
Although predominantly a summer destination associated with the beach and vacation in the sun, Portonovi has shown that, with a well-chosen program, it can become the center of events in this part of Montenegro during all seasons, which was proven by the incredible number of more than 100 thousand visitors during this period.
Along with one of the largest New Year trees in this part of Europe, a magic show (Light, Laser & Music Show), and beautiful decorations, visitors also enjoyed the Festive Market with the best selection of delicacies. This year's market delighted with its food offering, from pancakes, sausages, burgers, and fritters, as well as the indispensable mulled wine and rakija that warmed visitors on cold winter days. The Festive Market was also an excellent opportunity for local restaurateurs to expand their offer and introduce themselves to visitors of Portonovi. Kantina 65, Friends House, One&Only Portonovi, Koffein, Chefs of Boka, Auntie's House, Bel Paese, Tampa House, and Santa Clause Station (Idea) participated in the Festive Market.
On December 31st, visitors enjoyed the Square and Maison du Monde restaurants, as well as the Koffein café. At midnight sharp, the spectacular fireworks lit up the sky above Portonovi, which continued a long-standing tradition attended by hundreds of visitors.
New Year’s Eve was also organized at One&Only Portonovi hotel. A five-course gala dinner was organized in the La Veranda Restaurant with the music of Nika Turković and her band, while the guests enjoyed themselves with a DJ in the Tapasake Club.
During December, the youngest ones were not forgotten, and there were creative workshops, performances, and parties in the newly opened Events and Conferences Venue. Both children and parents were delighted, and there was a high demand.
This year, different content was organized for visitors, and sports enthusiasts enjoyed the New Year’s Run on January 2nd. The race gathered a hundred adult competitors and 100 children, and among them were famous athletes, Željko Dabović from Sparta Athletic Club and Slađana Pejović from Nikšić Athletic Club, who also won.
After the big concerts of the band Perper, Klapa Šufit, Amira Medunjanin, and local bands and DJs, the season was closed with a big concert by Petar Grašo in the crowded Marina Square, and the audience sang along for more than two hours.
In spring, Portonovi will have new events and activities for residents and guests of the resort who come from all over the world. There is an increasing interest in staying both in Portonovi and Herceg Novi during the winter months. There are also millions of views on Portonovi’s social networks. All of this shows that with a diverse offer, towns on the coast can be a destination that people don’t choose only during summer months but throughout the year.
