Nikola Žigon Exhibition Was Held at the Pizana Gallery

Nikola Žigon’s exhibition "Paintings in E Minor" was held at the Pizana Gallery in Portonovi last night.

Žigon said that the inspiration for the paintings was music.

"Not music as such, but music as a way of experiencing it as a work of art," said Žigon.

He pointed out that his two favorite pieces he enjoys listening to most are Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto and Chopin's Piano Concerto.

"When I realized that both are in E minor, I realized that E minor means something to me," added Žigon.

He emphasized that the exhibited paintings were created in such a way that he wanted his audience to feel enjoyment and experience the paintings without any burdensome thoughts.

"No explanations like it's popular to explain each painting as a project nowadays. I just want them to relax and enjoy it as if listening to music," stated Žigon.

As he said, abstract painting allows that approach.

"Even at this time when there are lots of ugly things we can hear about, I want to give inspiration for a better time, a higher frequency, for the amount of love to increase in the world," added Žigon.

He emphasized that the three arts he considers the best are poetry, music, and abstract painting.

According to Žigon, he tries to use colors that will give positive energy and be non-depressing in accordance with the theme and goal.

"I had a long period of white paintings. That's how I started my abstract painting," stated Žigon.

As he said, he used to call himself a colorist, although the paintings were almost always white, so he entered the phase with color later.

Žigon emphasized that the most beautiful part of a painter's career is when a painting is received positively, and you see the audience's enthusiasm.

"I have cooperated with Ljiljana Milošević in various galleries for over ten years. We have had many exhibitions and collaborations, but I think this one in Portonovi is like icing on the cake because the atmosphere here is superb and relaxed," said Žigon.

The owner of the Pizana Gallery, Ljiljana Milošević, said that Žigon's exhibition confirms Henry Moore's quote that happiness is to live art.

"I think that every time something like this happens, we all experience a new emotion," said Milošević.

As she stated, the Pizana Gallery has worked for 35 years, with many good exhibitions that have attracted great attention from the media and audiences that appreciate art.

"I would like to single out these five years at Portonovi. I believe this is perfection in the gallery business – working with an outstanding team of young, ambitious, and professional people," said Milošević.

She said that the gallery never celebrates anniversaries because she believes that every new exhibition and new painting in the gallery represents a beautiful celebration.

Milošević stated that Žigon carries an extraordinary emotion.

As she said, with the sounds of the violin and an extraordinary orchestra, everyone felt the harmony, rhythm, and melody that Nikola selflessly shared in his paintings.

She said Žigon's paintings will be exhibited in the One&Only Portonovi Hotel next month, as they have an excellent collaboration.

Milošević announced that an exhibition of Biljana Keković, an award-winning artist who exhibited worldwide, will be organized in July.

"In addition to that exhibition, there will be another exhibition here at the gallery, I hope, by a young artist, but the arrangements are still ongoing. At the One&Only Portonovi Hotel, there will be exhibitions by a sculptor from Belgrade, Jelena Kršić, and Milutin Obradović from Montenegro with the "An Ordinary Little Dream," stated Milošević.
