More Reasons to Visit Portonovi This Summer

Every season at Portonovi tells a story of its own, and this summer is no exception. In the weeks ahead, visitors and residents will have the opportunity to enjoy a vibrant program of live music, art, exceptional culinary experiences, wellness offerings and activities for the whole family, created in collaboration with Portonovi’s long-standing partners across the worlds of  culture and hospitality. This year’s program captures the distinctive spirit of the destination, bringing together the influences of the local community, Montenegro’s rich cultural heritage and international experience. The result is an authentic summer experience that continues to inspire visitors and draw them back to Portonovi year after year.

The program begins on Monday, 20 July, at 9:30 p.m. when Portonovi will host the closing concert of this year’s edition of the Dani Muzike Festival. In collaboration with Herceg Fest, Portonovi will welcome the world-renowned Slovenian a cappella choir Perpetuum Jazzile to Marina Square. Celebrated around the globe for its extraordinary vocal arrangements, the ensemble uses nothing but the human voice to recreate the sounds of an entire orchestra.

The concert also marks the beginning of Portonovi’s collaboration with one of Herceg Novi’s most important and longest-standing cultural festivals, bringing audiences together for an unforgettable summer evening beneath the stars. Admission is free.

One of Portonovi’s most cherished summer traditions returns on Saturday, 25 July, with the sixth edition of Portonovi Wine Night, this year with an entirely new atmosphere.

Created in collaboration with long-standing partner Compania de Vinos Montenegro, this year’s theme, A Night Behind the Masks, sets the scene for an elegant evening inspired by mystery. Guests are invited to embrace a sophisticated black-and-white dress code, while each visitor will receive a specially selected mask upon arrival, to enhance the atmosphere of the evening. The wine experience will bring together renowned regional wineries and a carefully curated selection of international labels. Live saxophone, the elegant sounds of the Klasa string ensemble and a DJ set.

The very next day, a series of events will begin to mark Portonovi’s 7th anniversary, a seven-day celebration of the destination’s evolution, the community that brings it to life, and the people who have played a part in shaping it.

The program begins on Sunday, 26 July, at 8:30 p.m., with the opening of a contemporary art exhibition organised in collaboration with Gallery Pizana, at the Portonovi Conference Centre. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover works by prominent Montenegrin artists Sonja Đuranović and Roman Đuranović, whose distinctive artistic styles come together in a carefully curated exhibition. The opening night will offer guests the chance to meet the artists and enjoy a live music program. The exhibition will be open daily until 2 August, from 6 to 11 p.m., with all displayed artworks available for purchase.

On Monday, 27 July, art will step beyond the gallery walls and become part of the resort with Boka on Canvas, taking place from 7 to 9.30 p.m. Seven artists will paint live at seven different locations across Portonovi, inviting visitors to witness the creative process as each artwork unfolds - from the very first brushstroke to the finished piece. Younger visitors will have their own Children’s Art Zone in Central Park, featuring creative workshops and collaborative art activities, while live violin and saxophone performances will add an extra touch of elegance to the atmosphere throughout the destination.

The program continues on Wednesday, 29 July, with Active Portonovi, organised in collaboration with the team at One&Only Portonovi. Inspired by the destination’s seventh anniversary, the event will feature seven engaging fitness challenges, accompanied by a DJ performance and set against the spectacular backdrop of the helipad overlooking the Bay of Kotor. Designed for all fitness levels, the event promises a unique outdoor workout experience. 

On Saturday, 1 August, Giacomo Puccini’s La Bohème will take centre stage at Vista Square, offering audiences a unique opportunity to experience one of the world’s most celebrated operas beneath the open sky. The performance will also mark the beginning of Portonovi’s collaboration with the Operosa Montenegro Opera Festival.

Throughout the summer, Portonovi’s outdoor yoga sessions will continue every Wednesday at the helipad, offering a wonderful opportunity to balance both body and mind.
