The Magic Arrived in Portonovi as More than 20,000 Lights on the New Year Tree Were Turned On, and the Sparkling Season Started
Last night at the special New Year Tree Lighting Ceremony in Marina Square Portonovi, the Sparkling Season officially started in the coastal resort.
At 6 PM, more than 20 thousand lights started shining on one of the biggest New Year trees in the region, which is 13 meters tall. In addition to the tree and the decorations from previous years, this year, Portonovi has numerous new decorations and photo corners that delight visitors.
The ceremony was followed by the kids from children's choirs, Boka School International from Portonovi, and D-moll from Podgorica.
"This is just the first in a series of activities that await us during December and January, and the period with the most activities starts from December 23 and lasts until January 7 - 16 days, 16 concerts, 16 days of the FeFFstive Market," said the Director of Marketing and Communications in Portonovi, Adrijana Husić.
Husić also pointed out that in Portonovi, they are especially happy that this year there is a greater interest of guests and visitors to spend holidays by the sea and that guests choose Herceg Novi for their visit.
"Although it may not be typical to spend New Year holidays by sea, numerous activities we organized last year made Portonovi recognized as an address where the fun lasts all year round. Herceg Novi has always been known as a seaside town that lives during winter, and I believe that in recent years, we are contributing to making it so again. Together with the town administration, with activities such as the Festive Market and concert seasons, as well as the Mimosa Festival, we believe that we will attract an increasing number of guests every year," added Husić.
At the moment, Portonovi has a special offer for accommodation, with prices starting at 192 euros per night for two persons, available until January 31, and including various amenities, such as free massage, breakfast, gym use, etc.
The atmosphere in Portonovi will peak from December 23 to January 7, when Marina Square will host Festive Market with daily concerts and a light show spectacle. The Festive Market will be open from 4 PM to 11 PM on weekdays and from 11 AM to 11 PM on weekends and holidays. It will offer visitors various delicacies, pancakes, fritters, doughnuts, burgers, chicken wings, pizza, and other kinds of diverse specialties. When it comes to concerts, regional and world-famous artists will come to Portonovi: Michael Jackson Tribute Band, Ansambl Toć, Fantom, Elemental, Marijana Zlopaša, Ida Prester and Lollobrigida, Mostar Sevdah Reunion, MKDSL, Klapa Kaše, Trio Gušt, Tijana Bogićević, bands Girls Boys and Toys, Remake, Low Voltage and Ognjen Gvozdenović, DJ Burak Yeter, and Symphony Orchestra performing Best of '80s hits.
Before the beginning of the Sparkling Season, Portonovi reached another significant milestone – in mid-November - the millionth visitor visited the resort this year, surely due to the large number of events organized throughout the year.
"Events we organized are one of the reasons Portonovi and One&Only Portonovi were the epicenter of events. In 2024, we were motivated by the comments on the quality of service, the offer that we, as a resort, have 365 days a year thanks to our tenants, and the new openings we are waiting for in the first half of the year, which will further enrich the offer and add to the list of reasons that make Portonovi a destination for life and vacation," concluded Husić.
