Friday in Portonovi Brought the Colors of Spain and Music of Sweden

Last night, the artist Đurđica Đurić presented her paintings and sculptures to a large audience in Portonovi. It showed that Portonovi Resort, in addition to its amazing tourist offer, is a place that gathers world-famous painters who exhibit their works to a wide audience on Herceg Novi Riviera. The Pizana Gallery, the cultural oasis of Portonovi, exhibited the works of an artist who has lived in worked in Spain for more than 20 years.

Through an interesting abstraction of reality, predominantly vibrant colors, and works that speak about the positive side of life, Đurđica Đurić, as she said herself, brought the spirit of Spain to Montenegro.

“I am exhibiting in Portonovi for the second time, and that is a great pleasure and honor. The first time, when Portonovi just opened, I presented my paintings and sculptures. Today, at this exhibition, you can also see pieces of clothing I worked on and implemented my art in. So, this painting exhibition is connected with pieces of clothing I worked on, and the characters I worked on that can now be found in my paintings are now part of this fashion creation,” said Đurđica.

According to the Pizana Gallery Owner, Ljiljana Milošević, the protagonist of all Đurđica's works are colors that the artist, as she pointed out, uses to show all the happiness and positive perspective on life.

“Art in all forms was exhibited tonight in our gallery. Đurđica has explored human faces for a long time, and with time, they grew into very interesting sculptures, unordinary and in vibrant colors,” she said.

After the exhibition opened, all visitors, together with the artist, took part in a performance in which they could try their painting skills on a canvas.

The Director of Marketing and Communications at Portonovi, Adrijana Husić, expressed her opinion that exhibitions organized by the Pizana Gallery are significant for the resort and for Montenegro as a destination.

“This is one of the ways to position ourselves and attract new guests, not only to the resort but to Boka Bay as well. Pizana is famous for hosting local artists, which is a tradition it nourishes. We are especially happy to have had the opportunity to host international guests as well. Pizana is the heart of Portonovi, which was proven since 2019 when Portonovi started working,” she said.

After the exhibition opened, a concert was organized in the beautiful Portonovi Marina Square. The occasion was 50 years since the Swedish group ABBA was founded, and ABBA Symphonic Tribute Show entertained guests with famous songs, such as “Mamma Mia, “Dancing Queen,” “Super Trouper,” and others.

This was the first performance of the ABBA Symphonic Tribute Show in Montenegro, and there were more than 40 musicians on the stage playing hits for around 5000 visitors in Portonovi.
