Festive Season Officially Begins in Portonovi

The ceremonial lighting of the New Year Tree in Portonovi, held on Saturday, December 6 at Marina Square, officially marked the opening of this year’s festive season and attracted a large number of visitors from across the country and the region. With its distinctive program, Portonovi once again reaffirmed its reputation as one of the most beautifully decorated winter destinations on the Montenegrin coast.

The program began with the arrival of guests and festive background music, followed by a lively parade of young majorettes through Portonovi. A performance by the children’s ensemble KUD Sloga added to the evening’s charm, delighting especially the youngest attendees.

At 18:00, Portonovi representatives addressed the audience, followed by the countdown and the moment everyone was waiting for - the lighting of the New Year Tree. With its unique design inspired by the shape of a natural fir and adorned with rich festive decorations, the tree once again shone brightly, becoming the central festive landmark of the resort.

The evening concluded with the now traditional performance by the Children’s Choir Cvrkutići, marking the official start of the season of celebration and joy.

The ceremony introduced a broader festive program that will unfold throughout December and January, featuring musical performances, engaging activities for children, a holiday market, and an open-air ice-skating rink. Staying true to its signature spirit, Portonovi will continue to be a place of gathering, joy, and memorable holiday moments.

The opening of Portonovi Festive Market and ice skating rink is planned for Friday, December 12.
