A Celebration of Spring: Mimosa Festival Returns to Herceg Novi

The Mimosa Festival in Herceg Novi is one of the Adriatic’s most beloved winter traditions, marking the joyful arrival of spring through a rich program of music, culture, gastronomy and community celebration. Each February, Herceg Novi is transformed by the vibrant yellow blooms of mimosa, filling the streets with color, fragrance and a festive atmosphere that brings together locals and visitors alike.

The 57th edition opens with a spectacular Grand Opening on 13 February, when the festive procession arrives in Igalo, the keys to the city are symbolically handed over to the carnivalists, and the celebrations continue late into the night with concerts by regional music icons Nina Badrić and Goran Karan. The program unfolds over the following weeks with highlights including the glamorous Masquerade Ball, a unique Concert in Masks, the lively and authentic Fish Dinner, the elegant International Wine Salon, and the satirical Carnival Trial, a tradition that humorously bids farewell to the past year and welcomes new beginnings.

A special part of the festival takes place in Portonovi with the traditional Mimosa Harvest - Wish and Wine Festivities. The ceremonial parade of the Herceg Novi City Music, majorettes, local music ensembles, trombonists and masqueraders will arrive in Portonovi at 9:45, bringing the festive spirit directly to the waterfront.
