The Cultural and Economic Center of Azerbaijan – Montenegro, with the support of Azmont Investments and in cooperation with Montenegro Chess Federation and Prosvjeta Chess Club from Podgorica, is proud to announce the fifth memorial chess tournament “Heydar Aliyev Trophy.” The reason for organizing the tournament is the 101st anniversary of the birth of this prominent Azerbaijani statesman. The tournament will be held in Portonovi Events and Conferences Venue on May 11, 2024. There will be 9 rounds of 10 + 5 seconds per player, and the tournament is open for 60 players who apply first. In addition to cups and medals for winners, there will also be ten regular and four special awards. The ceremony of awarding winners is planned for 5:30 PM.
