The Middle Village will consist of the following approximately 34 luxury apartments, comprising a mix of apartments from studios, 1 Bedroom to 4 Bedroom Unit, Retail areas on the ground floor.
Middle Village is located to the north of the Lungo Mare, the main artery that runs transversely east to west through the site, at the eastern vehicle entrance onto the site.
Middle Village will consist of three and four-story buildings with ground floor dedicated to retail and two to three stories of luxury apartments. The Middle Village building is critical to the project given its proximity to the entrance for all vehicles into the site acting as a critical artery and sense of arrival point to the project. The location and design is also important as this building represents the axis point for design concepts within the Portonovi residential village bridging the architectural gap between Marina Apartments and Upper Village (Contemporary) and Lower Village/Fisherman’s Wharf (Vernacular) utilizing materials and design features from each and shaping the Marina Square. Most of the apartments will have views to the Marina and to the bay beyond.
The aesthetic treatment will be a contemporary interpretation of elements, materiality, scale and detailing of the local traditional coastal developments. It will respect this language but build on it to generate a contemporary, sensitive language of spatial relationship, form, element, texture and assembly.
