SAFETY AND SECURITY INFORMATION

SAFETY PROCEDURE

Portonovi Resort is equipped with the latest fire protection systems. Please take a moment to review the following page regarding fire safety.

There are smoke detectors in all areas of the Resort including residential apartments. All areas of Portonovi are equipped with alarm stations that are continuously monitored.

We also recommend you review the emergency evacuation procedures located at the residential entrance area.

If you have any questions regarding our procedures, please contact the Lifestyle Services Reception.

WHEN YOU CHECK IN, please do the following:

• Locate the nearest fire exits

• Count and remember the number of doors between the exits and your door

• Open exit doors and examine the staircase layout

• Locate the nearest alarm pull station (manual call point), fire extinguisher, and fire hose.

INSPECT YOUR RESIDENCE

Study the layout of your residence and determine anything that might help or hinder possible emergency exiting. Read all fire emergency information provided, including the layout on the back of the door.

Always keep your residence key card near your bed.

We hope these procedures will contribute to your comfort and well-being during your stay at Portonovi.

EMERGENCY PROCEDURE & EVACUATION PLAN

Please be prepared. Know the location of stairway exits, fire alarms, and pull-alarm station (manual call point) in your residence.

IN CASE OF FIRE, DO NOT USE ELEVATORS.

WHAT ACTION TO TAKE WHEN YOU DISCOVER FIRE OR SMOKE INSIDE YOUR RESIDENCE

⦁    In case of fire, dial 713 (Security Control Room, available 24/7) immediately to report the fire.

⦁    Activate the nearest manual call point (fire alarm) in your residence.

⦁    Take the closest extinguisher and extinguish the fire if it is in the beginning stage.

⦁    If the fire is in an advanced stage, take your residence key card, exit the residence, and close the door behind you. Do not expose yourself to the risk.

⦁    Feel the door, if the door is not HOT, open it slightly and look in both directions for the nearest exit sign.

⦁    Watch for smoke. Immediately close the door and remain in your residence if there is thick smoke outside.

⦁    If the stairwell is clear, exit down to ground level.

⦁    Alert others in the area.

⦁    Proceed to the nearest fire exit, open the emergency exit door carefully, watch out for thick smoke in the stairwell, and evacuate from the residence to the assembly point.

If you are stopped by heavy smoke, go upstairs to a smoke–free hallway and find another staircase. Never try to go through thick smoke.

The SAFE PLACE (ASSEMBLY POINT) is located next to the Security Guard House, close to the roundabout.

WHAT TO DO IN CASE YOU ARE UNABLE TO LEAVE YOUR RESIDENCE

⦁    Stay in the residence. If you cannot exit, your residence is the safest place to be.

⦁    Dial 713 and report your location.

⦁    Stuff wet cloths under the door. Wet towels, sheets, or blankets can keep smoke from entering through the open space under your door.

⦁    Fill your bathtub.

⦁    Keep plenty of water in the tub and have a wastebasket or ice bucket nearby for carrying water.

⦁    This way you can quickly dampen the wet cloths that are keeping the smoke out.

⦁    Signal your presence. Wave a sheet out your window as a signal to firefighters that the residence is occupied.

⦁    Stay close to the floor! Tie a wet cloth over the nose and mouth for easier breathing.

⦁    Do not break windows unless absolutely necessary. You may need them later to keep out the smoke.

⦁    Remain calm.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE REQUESTED TO EVACUATE FROM YOUR RESIDENCE?

⦁    Take your residence key card if you are in your residence.

⦁    Exit with caution.

⦁    Remain calm, don’t hurry.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU HEAR AN ALARM IN YOUR RESIDENCE?

⦁    Immediately start the evacuation, do not wait.

⦁    Take your residence key card, exit the residence, and close the door behind you.

⦁    Alert others in the area.

⦁    Proceed to the nearest fire exit and evacuate from the residence to the assembly point
